Frequently asked questions

Find answers to common questions about CardioMood, our technology, and how we can support your health monitoring needs.

General

What is CardioMood?

CardioMood is a comprehensive heart rate variability (HRV) monitoring platform designed for health professionals, corporate wellness programs, and clinical research. We combine medical-grade wearable devices with AI-powered analytics to provide actionable health insights.

What is HRV and why does it matter?

Heart Rate Variability (HRV) measures the variation in time between heartbeats. Unlike heart rate, which is just an average, HRV reflects the balance between your sympathetic (fight-or-flight) and parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) nervous systems. Higher HRV generally indicates better cardiovascular fitness, stress resilience, and recovery capacity.

Who is CardioMood for?

CardioMood is designed for B2B applications including health coaches and wellness practitioners, corporate wellness programs, insurance companies, elderly care facilities, and clinical researchers. We focus on professional use cases where accurate, continuous monitoring and population-level insights are needed.

Is CardioMood a medical device?

Yes, the CardioWatch is a CE-certified Class IIa medical device. Our sensors achieve 99.2% accuracy compared to medical-grade ECG, validated through peer-reviewed clinical studies. However, CardioMood is intended for wellness and monitoring purposes, not for diagnosing or treating medical conditions.

CardioWatch Device

How does the CardioWatch work?

The CardioWatch uses photoplethysmography (PPG) technology—green LED light that measures blood volume changes in your wrist. This non-invasive approach enables continuous, comfortable monitoring without electrodes or chest straps.

How long does the battery last?

The CardioWatch battery lasts up to 7 days with continuous HRV monitoring. Battery life varies based on usage patterns, particularly if you use real-time biofeedback features frequently.

Is the device water resistant?

Yes, the CardioWatch is IP67 rated, meaning it can handle splashes, rain, and brief submersion. However, we don't recommend wearing it while swimming or showering, as water pressure and soap can affect sensor accuracy.

How comfortable is it to wear?

The CardioWatch is designed for 24/7 wear with a lightweight design and hypoallergenic band. Most users report forgetting they're wearing it after the first day. The band is also interchangeable if you prefer different materials or colors.

Platform & Analytics

What metrics does CardioMood track?

CardioMood tracks comprehensive HRV metrics including time domain (RMSSD, SDNN, pNN50), frequency domain (LF, HF, LF/HF ratio), and derived insights like Readiness Score, Stress Index, Recovery Index, and Sleep Quality. We also track heart rate, activity, and sleep stages.

How is my data stored and protected?

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest using AES-256 encryption. We're fully GDPR compliant and offer HIPAA-compliant infrastructure for healthcare clients. You own your data, and we never sell personal health information to third parties.

Can I integrate CardioMood with other systems?

Yes, we offer a comprehensive REST API, webhooks for real-time notifications, and pre-built integrations with popular platforms like Salesforce, Epic, Cerner, Slack, and Zapier. Enterprise customers can request custom integrations.

Does CardioMood work offline?

Yes, the CardioWatch stores up to 14 days of data locally and syncs automatically when your phone is nearby. The mobile app also works offline for viewing recent data and biofeedback sessions.
